The firmware update supports the new Canon Flex Zoom cinema lenses and the Cine-Servo CN8x15 IAS S lens. With this firmware update, the EOS C70 will finally benefit from Eye Detection AF! Of course, as shown in CVP’s video, it is not as good as Canon’s mirrorless cameras, but it’s a much-welcomed addition. I always had difficulties understanding why the EOS C70 did not have Eye Detection autofocus, especially since the Canon EOS R5 C had these features. The firmware update also introduces new 4K Intra recording options up to 60P/50P at 600Mbps. This Canon709 picture profile is pretty similar to my all-time favorite WideDR picture profile, but with more contrast/saturation and without using super-white to avoid issues with range conversion. Next, there is a new Custom Picture Profile called Canon 709. You’ll gain control of the C70 via Canon’s RC-IP100 remote camera controller and the remote camera control application.
